“Oak Hostel Cabin” is located at Nihonbashi area, near Tokyo station.
Since the opening in March 2015, not just Japanese guests but also people from all over the world are staying at this “Oak Hostel Cabin.”
Gathering the great part from both capsule hotel and hostel, “Oak Hostel Cabin” has become a unique and comfortable place to stay in Tokyo.
Recently becoming popular among foreign people as a unique bed like a spaceship, capsule beds are used at this facility. On the other hand, as a hostel, facilities like common lounge and kitchen are well satisfied where guests are freely communicate with each other.
Let me share more in details using photos I actually took♪
“Oak Hostel Cabin” is getting high rating on the guest review with the comments like “Very cheap and convenient,” “Felt like experiencing study abroad,” “Staffs were very kind and friendly!”
Let me introduce more about “Oak Hostel Cabin” based on the below 5 great points.
1. Very Cheap! 2,500 yen～/per night!
2. Located in the middle of Tokyo! Convenient for both business and leisure!
3. It’s a hostel but using capsule beds!
4. Having women-only floor! Clean and Safe!
5. Able to communicate with travelers from all over the world!
Bedding type is a capsule-type, but the facility’s positioning would be “hostel,” not a capsule hotel. Thus, the price is very reasonable compare to the normal capsule hotel.
Usually, the price for the capsule hotel is about 4,000 - 5,000 yen, but you can stay at “Oak hostel Cabin” for only 2,500 yen at the cheapest, and around 3,500 yen on weekends. Many would say that “This price is so reasonable with this location!”
I think the reason of this reasonable price is because you need to do the bed making by yourself, and amenities are limited compare to the capsule hotel.
However, the facilities like common kitchen, common lounge, refrigerator, and microwaves are well satisfied which makes you feel much more reasonable than the normal capsule hotel!

Nice view at night as well.
The nearest station would be Tokyo Metro Hanzomon line “Suitengu-mae Station” or Tokyo Metro Tozai line “Kayabacho Station.” Only 7 min walk from both stations.
This time, I used “Kayabacho Station,” so let me explain the rough image of how to get to Oak Hostel Cabin from Kayabacho Station.
From the Kayabacho Station #4b Exit, go straight till you see the convenient store “Family Mart.”
Go across the pedestrian crossing in front of the Family Mart, then turn to the left.
Cross the bridge called “Minatobashi,” then turn right, walk straight till you see “Oak Hostel Cabin” on your right hand side.

6 min walk from Hanzomon Line "Suitengumae Station" #2 Exit
Also just 6 min walk from “Tokyo City Air Terminal (T-CAT)” which is the limousine bus terminal to/from Haneda Airport and Narita Airport.
Rental bike is available for just 500 yen per day! I heard that many guests ask for rental bike and go around Tokyo for all day long since there are popular sightseeing spots around Oak Hostel Cabin like Tsukiji, Imperial Palace, Akihabara, and Asakusa.
Usually hostel uses bunk beds or tatami-mats with a futon on top. However, Oak Hostel Cabin uses capsule beds!
Capsule beds have more privacy and you will hear less noise compare to the bunk beds or tatami mats.
Oak Hostel Cabin is the place where you can sleep comfortable with capsule beds, and also enjoy the real pleasure of “Hostel” which is the communication between travelers at the common lounge area.

Go up the outside stairs and you will see the front desk on the 2nd floor.
The size of the capsule bed is standard size, but the actual capsule room looked wider and had good enough space to move.
There are outlets inside the capsule room so that you can charge your smart phone!
The above photo is the horizontal type. The size is same as vertical type, but it’s easier to go inside from the side of the capsule.
You need to do bed making by yourself like spreading the bed sheet.
Also, you better bring the lounge wear and towels since these are not prepared. (If you forgot to bring, you can borrow with a fee.)
You can feel relax at the large comfortable lounge area.
You can feel the Japanese style at the table called “Horigotatsu.” (Refer to the below photo)
Kitchen is well equipped! You can freely use cookware and tableware.
Rice cooker, pot, and seasonings are prepared as well!
Since there are also microwaves and toasters, you can toast the bread in the morning or heat up the bento-box from convenient store♪
If you go up the stairs from the lounge, there is a smoking space.
You can refresh yourself from here by looking at the river view.
Many capsule hotels are only available for men, but women can also stay and feel safe at Oak Hostel Cabin.
The capsule floors are divided into women-only floor, men-only floor, and mixed floor. Each floor’s entrance is being locked for security reason.
Men and women’s shower rooms are on the same floor, but there are some women-only shower room to keep the privacy.
There are 3 shower rooms for women, 5 shower rooms for both men and women.
Changing space is inside the shower room and it’s clean!
Shampoo, Conditioner, and body soap look stylish!
Make up remover is also equipped for women.
Of course, hair dryer is equipped as well.
Washing machine and drying machine are good for those who are staying for a long period of time.
The most attractive point of Oak Hostel Cabin is the smiling faces of travelers from all over the world!
Beside the front desk, many pictures of the guests were posted♪
The below photo is the world map which you can put the pin on your hometown on the map!
Japanese islands are already filled within less than 1 year from the opening, and surprisingly most of the Europe countries are almost filled with pins as well!
You can also see the pins on South America, Africa, and even remote islands which I have never heard of!
It’s interesting to know that guests are indeed coming from all over the world!
Staffs are doing their best to make this place so comfortable!
I found the interesting board which introduces staff members!
One of the great point for guesthouse or hostel is that you can also communicate with staffs who know a lot about local information.
Mr. Ishii who allowed us to do the inspections of this hostel was also very kind and easy to talk to.
I also found the note which guests can freely write message to the staff!
Many messages like “It was very comfortable! Thank you!” were written in English!
I could feel the warm heart from the guests as well.
I was able to find many great points of “Oak Hostel Cabin” where you can stay and feel safe.
Located at the quiet place but convenient for sightseeing. Using capsule beds but the price is very reasonable since it’s a hostel. Women can also stay safe. You can experience the international communication since the guests are from all over the world.
